Answer:

Some would say yes. However, I recently heard some advice on a podcast that really resonated with me: you don't have to write every day, but you do need to write with a purpose. I've been utilizing this approach in my writing as of late, and it has helped me be more focused.

Question:

Why is the English canon relevant?

Answer:

The English canon is relevant because it provides a universal body of work to be consumed. However, I do think that the English canon needs to be expanded in order to include more diverse writers. A more diverse body of work means more representation, and representation within the arts is life-changing.

Answer:

English is crucial in this day and age because it is one of the most spoken languages in the world. English is a lingua franca, a language which connects speakers of different native languages. I believe English will bring the world together by strengthening international relations.
