What makes you a good Mandarin tutor?
I was born in China and I lived in the United States for ten years. I use Mandarin when I communicate with my family and English with my friends and peers. I can speak, write, and read Chinese, and I feel confident in tutoring Mandarin.
Why should you be a world history tutor?
I am a history major at Chaffey College, and I have a huge passion for history. I often watch history-related videos on YouTube during my free time. I discovered my passion for history when I was a Sophomore during high school, and I consider myself lucky because I had a great history teacher. He is the reason why I chose history as my major. Although I lack tutoring experience, however, I will try my best to mimic my high school history teacher's skills. And by the way, I always have "A"s on that subject.
Why are you suitable for teaching students English as a Second Language (ESL)?
I was born in China and I came to the United States when I was ten years old. I did not know any English back then. My parents hired two tutors to help me with my English. While attending the ESL program at my school. I was an ESL student for about five years with several teachers and tutors and I am able to mix their teaching methods into my own. Although I lack teaching experiences, however, I can make it up with my empathy for ESL students. I can also speak Mandarin, so that means I can be even more beneficial for Chinese students.
