Explain why log(0) is undefined.

Answer:

This is because the question being asked is what number to what power equals 0. No number to any power will ever equal zero, so the answer is undefined.

Question:

How would you best try to solve why the salmon in a stream are getting sick and dying early?

Answer:

1. Test the water. I would take a water sample (more than one is better) and test each chemical component of the chemicals in the water to see if one of them may be harmful to the fish. This could be done by looking at previous research, or conducting a test in the lab on flies, or another common test organism. 2. Assess the habitat. I would conduct a habitat assessment and compare it to a similar stream where the fish are healthy and see if I can find any differences.

Question:

Why is a compressed can of air dangerous if it heats up?

Answer:

This happens because the molecules in the gas are moving around faster inside the can with nowhere to go, and so the pressure in the can is increasing. If the pressure increases enough, the can could explode.
