Question:

How do I create a well thought out thesis?

Hannah L.
Answer:

First, you should narrow down your topic of study. Then you need to ask yourself if this is an opinion based paper, or one that requires heavily on the research component. If it is opinion based, you should simply state your opinion. If it is research based, then you should ask yourself one single question in regards to your topic and state how you plan on answering that question.

Question:

What should I write about for my college essay?

Hannah L.
Answer:

Choose an event in your life that completely changed you as a person. Choose something that makes you stand out among the rest, but don't be cliche about it. If I were a college admissions reviewer, I would want to read an essay and think "wow, this person has been through something that has brought them to where they are today and because of that, they deserve to attend this university."

ACT

Question:

How should I organize my essay for the ACT?

Hannah L.
Answer:

You should do it in a five paragraph format. Keep it simple, but to the point. Start with the introduction where you discuss what the essay is about and state your thesis - which should be a three part thesis. In each of the three middle paragraphs, go through your three part thesis. Then the final paragraph should be your conclusion where you restate your thesis and summarize your argument.
