Writing
TutorMe
Question:

How do you teach writing?

Alexander M.
Answer:

Immediately the mind jumps to grammar and spelling, typos dominate he teaching world in writing. But for me, content rules all. To teach content and how important it is to be able to express yourself as a writer outside of the system that is taught in schools. Grammar is important, but being able to write a full piece should take priority.

English
TutorMe
Question:

Why is English important?

Alexander M.
Answer:

As someone who studied English, so many people asked me "why"? English is more than just reading, it's representative of the thoughts and opinions that people had when and where they created their art. Fiction is honest in the way that it doesn't lie about what it is. It doesn't directly exist in reality. Can you say the same thing about non-fiction all the time?

Algebra

Question:

What is the most important part of learning Algebra?

Alexander M.
Answer:

With math it's patience, working with the students you realize that there are so many opportunities to both shine, and make one mistake that can mess up the entire process. So being patient with the students, and also teaching patience is the most important step in the process.
