My name is Tommie, I am a recent graduate of SJU in Queens, NY. I am an LA transplant who moved to NYC to study and cultivate words. ATLAS DIY, English Tutor
2017 - Present
I work with college aspiring young adults who are either first-generation immigrants or immigrants themselves who need an extra leg up in the daunting tasks ahead of college papers. I taught them formatting, cohesiveness, and the power of tying in opinion with hard text.
St John's University, Writing Center Tutor
2014 - 2017
I worked in the writing center of my university. Students would make appointments with me to edit or draft their class essays - course subjects varied. they would set up consultations where we would draft their first attempt. After they wrote their first draft they would return to me and we would go over the final processing. My main areas of focus were always cohesiveness, formatting, and voice.
