The Dust Bowl refers to the terrible dust storms that occurred in the west and south regions of the United States during the 1930s. It affected the people of the United States by causing a mass migration out of those areas primarily to the west. These storms also exacerbated the burden that the great depression had already created. Many families became migrant workers on farms just to make ends meet.
