What is the reference interview?
The reference interview is when library staff asks questions after the patron has asked the initial question to get more information about the question to better help find the answer/information.
Subject: Literature
In the “Wake” trilogy by Lisa McMann, the main character Janie frequently thinks in short, fragmented sentences. Why do you think that is and what do you think the author is trying to say from this writing style?
The writing style choice is in part because people do not always think in complex sentences full of purple prose. Each separate and distinct sentence—no matter how fragmented—conveys a certain emotion or action.

What is the difference between mystery and suspense as literary genres?
Mystery is at its core about solving a puzzle. A mystery could be a caper but is frequently centered around murders. Suspense evokes the feeling on being on the edge of your seat and is also focused less on the mystery of a crime and more about the chase to stop the culprit or prevent a disaster.
