## Questions

### Subject: Trigonometry

You have a right degree angle with 2 of the triangles lengths known. You need to solve for the hypotenuse. The 2 lengths are 3 and 4. The Hypotenuse is x. Solve for x.

The Pythagorean Therorem tells us that a² + b² = c² To solve this problem you need to square 3 and 4. 3² + 4² = x² 3² = 3 X 3, which is 9 4² = 4 X 4, which is 16 9 + 16 = x² 25 = x² Now we know what x² is equal to. In order to solve for x, we need to take the square root of 25. The square root of 25 is 5, therefore x = 5.

### Subject: Geometry

A triangle has 2 known angles which are 95 degrees and 35 degrees. What is the measurement of the 3rd angle?

Add the total of the 2 known angles, which is 95 + 35 = 130. We know that the total measurement of a triangle is 180 degrees. 180 - 30 = 50. 50 degrees is the measurement of the 3rd angle of the triangle.

### Subject: Algebra

5x + 3 = 7x – 1

Add 1 on both sides of the equation. 1 is eliminated on the right side. Now you have 5x + 4 = 7x. Subtract 5x on both sides of the equation. 5x is eliminated on the left side. Now you have 4= 2x. Divide by 2 on both sides and you get the answer of x=2 .
