Question:

What is the difference between a thesis and a topic sentence?

Answer:

A thesis statement is usually 1-2 sentences found at the end of your introduction. Consider your thesis as the "backbone" of your thesis. Topic sentences, on the other hand, are main ideas that relate back to your thesis statement.

Question:

How can I use intext citations with the book I am using?

Answer:

It is important to use citations in your writing to not only prove your point but also to avoid plagiarism. If you are citing a book in MLA style, an intext citation will look like (Smith 2020). If you are citing a book in APA style, an intext citation will like (Smith, 2020, p. 20) if you are directly quoting.

Answer:

Hello, First, it is very important to review your assignment sheet. After you have reviewed your assignment and what is required, begin prewriting to formulated ideas. After you have a few ideas that related to your topic, you are ready to create a thesis statement. Remember that a thesis statement is included at the end of your introduction and tells what your paper will be about. Typically, you will have at least three body paragraphs and a conclusion that nicely ties your paper together. If required, you will also need to reference what you have cited by including a works cited or reference page.
