About Caitlin

About Caitlin
I love the feeling of recognizing that a student of mine has truly understood new material that they have been taught. My goal as an educator is to help students of all backgrounds find their best methods for learning and to use them to recognize that some subjects are not as difficult to understand as they always thought. I believe that our academic interests tend to align with those classes that had the strongest teachers, an important thought which forces me to take my job as a tutor very seriously.

Teaching Experience

Teaching Experience
The highlight of my teaching experience has been in one-on-one private tutoring with a couple students, one in second grade and the other in eighth. I currently work at an after-school program and part of our curriculum is homework time, in which I walk around and assist students with any questions about their assignments. Doing this everyday has made communicating with young students easier for me in explaining abstract concepts.

Work Experience

Work Experience
Innovation Learning of Gilbert, AZ, Teacher of Before and After School Program
2019 - 2019
This is where I am responsible along with two other teachers to look after up to 40 students everyday. We follow a consistent routine which includes a period dedicated to completing all homework for the evening for each student as well as completing STEM related activities as a group.
Private Homes of Gilbert, AZ, Tutoring
2019 - 2019
This is where I work one-on-one with a student for an hour each week to help them organize their materials and to assist them with new concepts learned in the classroom. The material varies for each student, but typically involves working on improving math, spelling, and science skills.
Chegg Tutoring, Online Tutor
2018 - 2019
I often search for opportunities to tutor students online through Chegg. When they are available, I typically perform a written layout of how to solve the given problems submitted by students. This allows them to gain a full understanding of what the answer is and how to arrive there, step by step.
