Question:

What are two different types of financing within a company, and how do each affect the current ratio of the company?

Answer:

The two types of financing are debt financing and equity financing. Debt financing is related to taking loans or using credit lines like accounts payable. Essentially the company has to pay this money back at some point and sometimes with interest. Debt financing will decrease the current ratio, which indicates to investors that the company is less capable of paying off it's debt with the assets it has on hand. Equity financing means the company has sold more shares of the company to increase capital. This will not affect the current ratio because the equation for current ratio is Current Assets/Current Liabilities.
