Work Experience

Work Experience
Yuba Water Agency, Curriculum Designer
2020 - 2021
I developed and designed a curriculum for the Yuba Water Agency for Yuba College students concerning the Yuba River and its historical/ecological/cultural impacts as the sole focus of the project. YWA was looking for K-College teachers in the area and considering that YWA is going to build an educational aquatic center in the coming years, they wanted lessons that could be implemented in our area's classrooms and in the soon-to-be-built aquatic center. I developed writing lessons surrounding the Chinese water god, Bok Kai, as only two temples...
California State University, Sacramento, Writing Center Coordinator/English tutor
2017 - 2021
I coordinated the writing center at Sacramento State as a graduate student and have served as an English tutor there as well. My responsibilities included working one-on-one with students, scheduling appointments, giving in-class presentations, performing clerical work (reading/responding to emails/phone calls, technical support, etc.) as well as facilitating the English 121 course (a one-unit course where students meet with a tutor each week and receive credit.)
California State University, Sacramento, English Professor
2019 - 2020
I served as a student-teacher at Sacramento State throughout my graduate program, teaching English Composition. Topics taught included rhetoric and composition theory, genre, citation formats, etc.
Yuba Community College, English Tutor/Teacher's Assistant
2013 - 2019
I served as a community college writing tutor at Yuba College, working with students individually and in small groups, covering various topics such as rhetoric and composition, the writing process, rhetorical strategies, literature, citation formats, etc. In addition, I served as a teacher's assistant for various English classrooms (mostly remedial courses) helping low-income, first-time, underserved students (many of them Generation 1.5 students) navigate the intricacies of the collegiate system.
