Does writing stress you out? Do you feel uncomfortable when asked to given written expose? On the other hand, do you love to write? Are you a gifted writer?
If the answer is yes to any of the above, then join me in the pursuit of the written word. From editing and critique, to brainstorming original ideas, we all can use a helping hand from time to time.
Subject: Religious Studies
The most basic and single most important question to kick off with: What is religion? This might seem to have an answer that is simple enough. Would it surprise you to realize that you are likely wrong in your answer? If we can come to an agreeance on what even is religion then we have to ask, who or what is/are the "God/gods"? What are the justifications and rationalizations for such a concept? Is God even worth caring about?
As we move through history, it can easily be observed that humans are religious people. Come and join me on an exploration of religion, God/gods, morality, afterlife, etc... Together, we can embark on the discovery of the central question: what is religion?
Given the problems presented by the postmodern era: What is your existential conceptual framework, have you discovered your positionality? What is the Highest End (Greatest Good)? What are the basic Laws of Thought? How do we bridge the gap between Analytic and Continental Philosophy? Can we have knowledge (can we know things)? What is our operating racial schema and how does it affect our interpretive framework? What can we learn from non-western philosophical traditions? What is feminism and its feminist theory? Do all philosophies have to stand up against formal logical? What is Rational Presuppositionalism? What is right and what ought we to do. Why does any of this matter, what is ethical?
All of these questions have a chain of answers that bring with them very particular implications. The answers to these questions have long been debated, with many valid (note the true use of the word valid) arguments that seem to be at odds with each other. The only way to come to know is through the relentless pursuit of knowledge. Join me for conversation on these topics and much much more!
