Question:

How do I cite a quotation in an academic paper?

Rachael Y.
Answer:

When citing a quotation, the citation will be enclosed in parenthesis, with the author's last name followed by the page number the quotation appears on, at the end of a sentence. For example, if I had quoted J.K. Rowling in a paper, the end of the sentence may look like this: (Rowling 394).

Question:

What is the purpose of a time signature?

Rachael Y.
Answer:

A time signature tells the musician how many beats are in a measure & which note is represented in the beat. For example, in a 3/4 time signature, there are 3 beats per measure, and the quarter note gets the beat.
