Why did the country of France fall so quickly to Nazi Germany during World War II?
After the First World War, many countries on the continent of Europe had lost nearly one-third of their populations. The country of France therefore had fewer young men to fight off invading forces. This mixed with the reluctance of countries to support one another against invading troops led the country of France to fall to Hitler's forces in just six weeks.

How did the age of exploration affect the peoples already living in the Americas.
During the age of exploration, which can also be identified as the age of encounter, many Europeans would come ashore in the Americas. These Europeans would bring physical products to trade such as horses, olives and grapes. However, they would also bring diseases that were detrimental to native tribes, wiping out many tribes completely. This is often labeled as the Columbian Exchange in reference to Christopher Columbus.

How did Marco Polo's travels of the thirteenth century affect the age of exploration?
Marco Polo's travels to Asia and his subsequent book, The Travels of Marco Polo, would pique the curiosity of Europeans. Most had never before seen many of the things he wrote about. This book quickly sold many copies in Europe. This mixed with the demand for items from Asia would create an increase in trade. However, after the death of Kublai Khan trade would be more difficult. Encouraged by the demand and tales of Marco Polo many explorers sought a new route to Asia which would encompass the age of exploration.
