The first priority is to check your ABC's (airway, breathing and circulation). Call for help. Obtain vital signs. If your patient is breathing and does have a pulse, perform a neurological exam to determine if your patient is arousable. If your patient is unarousable, performing a blood glucose test would be advisable. Once help has arrived and the patient is stable be sure to document all assessments as well as interventions.
