A ladder which is inclined into the wall is 10 m long, and makes an angle of 45 degree with the ground. A ladder reaches 7 m high on the wall and the distance between ground and the foot of the wall is 11 m. Find the angle the ladder make with the wall.

Suppose, inclined wall be hypotenuse (h), a ladder reaching at some point of the wall be perpendicular (p), a distance between a foot of a ladder and wall be base (b), an angle between foot of a ladder and the wall be (ɵ) From question, it is given that, h = 10 m, p = 7 m, b = 11 m, and ɵ = 45 degree. Then, to find the remaining angle, We can use, (180 = 90 + 45 +x) degree, where 180 degree is the total angle of a triangle, 90 degree is the right angle between point of the wall and the ground, 45 degree is the given angle, x degree is the angle we need to find, according to the question. Therefore, by calculation, x = 55 degree.
