Many research assignments require you to find and use scholarly articles. You might also hear the terms: peer-reviewed academic refereed scientific Depending on your topic, some great places to start might be your library databases (particularly Academic Search Complete or subject-specific databases), Google Scholar, your library's (or another library's) research guides. From there, we can talk about how to use your search results not only to find articles you might use to write your paper, but to pick out keywords you might try in your next search (look at abstracts, titles, subject headings, etc.). Search is an iterative process which involves using productive failure to lead you into your next search, improving it until it gets better and better and more and more focused on what you need.
