Why are coral reefs important?
Coral Reefs are actually remains of a living thing which hardens to form its structure. These reefs are abundant in the sea. Reefs are beautiful and diverse in colors. These reefs become the habitat of fishes in the ocean and as well as other marine animals. Fishes find a place to have a home of their own. A home where they can find comfort. A home that could provide them safety. A home that could be a perfect place to build a family. The coral reefs are the perfect place to be their home. While, there is an abundance of coral reefs in the ocean. These reefs are endangered on some places in the world due to explosions caused by improper fishing and the water pollution. Some people are also into collecting these items because of their diverse shape and color. Thus, these habitat for marine animals are slowly deteriorating. If coral reefs are endangered. Then, our fishes and other marine resources that depends on it are also endangered. Thus, reefs should be preserved. There is a need to preserve the coral reefs. Some organizations are promoting protection of the coral reefs. In some places, artificial coral reefs are built. It is good to know that there is an awareness for people nowadays how important coral reefs are in the environment.
