Questions
Subject: SAT
How do I start preparing for the SAT?
Start with a practice test and identify which areas you most want to improve. Dedicate time every day to studying each subject, focusing more time on the subjects you most want to improve, and less time on subjects that you feel confident in.
Subject: Writing
How do I structure a research paper?
Writing is a vital part of higher education. All essays should start with an argument, or thesis. This should be a subject you feel confident that you can study extensively and talk about effectively. Use a variety of resources in your paper to support the claim you make in the beginning. Each paragraph should have it's own claim which supports your main thesis, with research to back it up. The conclusion restates the main arguments you made in the paragraphs, and ties them back into the thesis of the paper.
Subject: College Admissions
Where do I start the college admissions process?
This is the most common question I received when working with seniors going into the application process. The first step is to determine what you're looking for in a school for your future. Once you know that, you can narrow down which schools appeal to you, and from there, you can learn their requirements and start working on crafting your essay and application.
