The correct answer is B) Joey went to the grocery store with Nick to get some snacks, but they were sad when they did not find one of their favorite snacks. When combining two sentences it is important to see that both sentences go together, so it can make sense to put them into one. We use a conjunction, for instance here, but, to connect two events happening at the same time. We know that Joey and Nick went to the grocery store to get some snacks, BUT they were sad because they did not find one of their favorite snacks.

Question:

Susie bought one pair of jeans that were \$35 and three of the same t-shirts. Her total cost for everything was \$89. How much did Susie pay for each t-shirt?

If we want to figure out how much Susie paid for each t-shirt, we will have to take Susie's total, 89 dollars, and subtract 35 dollars that we know she paid for her jeans. When we subtract 35 from 89, we get 54 dollars! The next step is to take this number, 54, and divide it by 3 because she bought 3 of the same t-shirts, so the price for each is the same. Once we divide 54 by 3, we get 18, therefore Susie paid 18 dollars for each t-shirt!
