Questions
Subject: Literature
Does literature reflect society or does society reflect literature?
Like the question of which came first, the chicken or the egg, I believe that both sides of the question hold merit. Literature often pulls out the positive and the negative aspects of society and exacerbates them. By pointing out the positives of society, the reader can see the good and is willing to reflect it in their everyday lives. By pointing out the bad, readers are often filled with a sense of urgency and purpose to fix those things in society.
