Question:

What are chord inversions?

Nicole C.
Answer:

Chord inversions are a way to rearrange the order of notes that make up a chord. Take for example a C Major chord. When a C Major chord is played in root position, the order of the notes from the bass up would be C-E-G. If you were to play the same chord in first inversion the order would change to E-G-C. You would still play the same notes, but the order in which they are played would change.

Question:

What is a time signature and where to I find it?

Answer:

A time signature in music can be found at the beginning of any piece of music to the right of the key signature. A time signature is composed of two numbers, the top number, which tells you how many beats are in a measure, and the bottom number, which tells you which note gets one beat.
