What tools could you use to create a function that adds up all the numbers from 1 to x?

There are several different ways to tackle this question. For this type of function, we'll need to use the def function(): tool to build a function. We'll also need to loop through all of the numbers up to x, so we can use a for: loop to do this. Finally, we need to run through all the variables until x, and we can use the range() function for this. But be careful! The range function counts from 0 to x-1, so we'll have to account for this when doing our sum.

Describe how to find the derivative of $$f(x) = x^2+3 $$

In order to find the derivative of this function, we can apply the power rule and the sum rule. The power rule states that the derivative of $$x^a $$ is $$ ax^{a-1}$$. The sum rule states that the derivate of a sum is the sum of the derivatives In this case, the first part of the sum is $$x^2$$, in which a = 2 from our power rule. This means the derivate is $$ax^{a-1} = 2x^1 = 2x$$. The second part is a bit more tricky as there is no x, which means that a = 0. In this special case, the term is a constant, the derivative is always 0. As such, the answer is $$2x$$

The central dogma describes the flow of genetic information in our cells. The first process is DNA to DNA during replication. The second process is DNA to RNA during transcription. The third process is RNA to protein during translation. In most cases, the information only flows in these directions.
