The most important thing is to participate in activities that you love or want to put a lot of time into. The more time and dedication spent in an activity, the more you'll get out of them and the more favorable they look for colleges. Also what is important is to choose activities that go beyond "joiner" status, these are big name communities that have members in the hundreds. While these too are important, you should pursue opportunities that are unique and are harder to acquire and feature in depth application and learning. I have compiled information about different areas of interests and some opportunities that go along with them that feature qualities of dedication, talent, and in depth learning.
