Answer:

It is claimed that readers have the greatest advantage in the world. It is true, not only because they know more, but because there are certain aspects of our individuality that is shaped through reading. Not only our intellectual capacity but our general understanding of the world as well. We explore life when we read. We gain new ideas when we read. We gain experience as well.

Why do people write?

Answer:

Catharsis is human nature. Writing is one way of our intellectual catharsis. Through writing, we are able to express our ideas and feelings, our musings, even our dreams. This is the reason why we write, we crave for an outlet of these feelings and ideas, we want to unburden ourselves with what we have in mind and heart. People, by nature, want to share and through this, we write.

What is your own definition of literature?

Answer:

Literature encapsulates what life is. It is not only a work of art or a subject of study. It does not end in reading. It does not end in books for it is the strongest testament of who and what we are as humans--a reflection of ourselves preserved in the experiences of many. In literature, we use words, we exercise their power not only to express and create but to make sense of our life, and how and why we live.
