I'm Zahra, an economics/linguistics double major at New York University. I am passionate about reading, writing, and promoting a love of learning. I have two years of teaching experience and love pushing students to surpass the standards they've set for themselves.
For two years, I worked as a tutor for high school students at a tutoring center. I prepared students for the New York State Regents exams in various subjects, including English, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Biology, and World History. I also worked in SAT prep, preparing and teaching a brand-new curriculum for the redesigned SAT.
Khan's Tutorial, Quality Manager
2016 - 2016
As a quality manager at a tutoring center, I oversaw the activities of the SAT and Regents instruction program. I tracked student enrollment and daily attendance, matched instructors to students based on instructors' skill sets and students' needs, and maintained efficient student-instructor ratios. Additionally, I designed a 12-week curriculum to teach the revamped 2016 SAT.
Khan's Tutorial, Instructor
2014 - 2016
I created lesson plans based on the New York State Regents curriculum in social studies, math, English, and science. I taught high school students one-on-one and in small groups, and developed educational materials for them. I also recorded and organized electronic data tracking student progress in order to address students' strengths and weaknesses.
