About Alex

About Alex
I am a senior English major and French minor at Princeton University (class of 2017). My academic interests include film and film theory, English and French literature, African American studies, and postcolonial studies. In addition to my studies, I compete for Princeton's Division 1 NCAA Fencing team, of which I am the Men's Captain. I also represent the USA at international fencing events, aiming to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games. My hobbies include playing guitar, brewing coffee, and listening to podcasts.

Teaching Experience

Teaching Experience
My interest in teaching began in high school when I did a career exploration project in the field. I served as an assistant math teacher for algebra and precalculus classes and did supplemental research on teaching methods and philosophies. I further developed my skills as a teacher through my experience as an assistant fencing coach at Vivo Fencing Club, where I taught group classes, gave individual lessons, and led summer camps. Finally, my passion for teaching has led me to become a Peer Academic Advisor for Rockefeller College at Princeton...
