Question:

If Sarah has 20 dollars in her bank account and makes 8 dollars an hour babysitting how long will it take Sarah to make 200 dollars. Please write an equation to explain your work

Answer:

First to put this into an algebra equation. Sarah starts with 20 dollars so that can be a constant in our equations and we know that for every hour she make 8 dollars so 8x could symbolize the rate of change. So our equation could be total= 8x+20 200=8x+20 subtract 20 from both sides 180=8x divide by 8 to both side to get x by it self and get x=22.5. So sarah must work 22.5 hours to have $200.
