Question:

What are the best ways to build your writing skills?

Answer:

1. Practice! We will work on creating writing samples during each session. These will be short prompts where you will need to think quickly in the moment. The subjects of the prompts are those that can later be used for college essays, academic writing samples, or standardized tests. 2. Analyze! We will analyze each of your practice samples for grammar, logical organization, and thorough development of ideas. 3. Edit! In addition to analyzing your own writing, we will analyze the works of professional and amateur writers. You will learn what to look for and how to view your own writing objectively as though it is someone else's! 4. Brainstorm! We will review tips and tricks for brainstorming and organizing your ideas before you even get anything down on the page. 5. Reduce stress! It is important that you feel confident in yourself and your writing abilities, because stress will clutter your mind and make you an inefficient writer. We will review stress management strategies for any high-stakes writing you may be doing, and build your confidence in writing!

Answer:

x + xy + 25 = 3x + 2 [-x on both sides] xy + 25 = 2x + 2 [-25 on both sides] xy = 2x - 23 [divide by x on both sides] y = (2x - 23)/x
