My name is Peter Philips, and I am an undergraduate senior at Dickinson College. I would describe myself as a language nerd. I have at least an advanced-beginner level knowledge of 7 different languages, German being the language I feel the most comfortable speaking in after my native English. It has been four years since I started speaking German, and I was studying abroad in the North German city of Bremen in spring of 2020. When I studied abroad in Japan in 2019, I worked as an English conversation tutor for Japanese and other non-native English speakers interested in learning more casual spoken English, and more specifically regional American dialects. I have also worked as a tutor for first and second year German studies at my college.
