Describe how effective costume design supports storytelling.
Besides looking visually pleasing, costume design is meant to reveal information about the setting and character. Costume design reflects a character's age, the time period they are living in, their income, and their location. Color theory and silhouettes can be used to show how much agency a character has, how comfortable they feel with attention, and changes in color and cut of the costume can reflect emotional changes in the character and their development.

What was one of the most notable effects of the Boston Tea Party?
The passage of the Intolerable Acts created strict trade restrictions, banned large gatherings, required Bostonians to quarter soldiers, and made Massachusetts a crown colony with an appointed legislature, among other things. The American colonies unified and organized to provide support for Boston during the trade blockade in a way that had never been seen before. These acts added momentum to the movement for independence as they created widespread outrage, enough to help convince people of the need to convene the First Continental Congress.
Choose three rhetorical devices, define them, and describe their effect.
Alliteration is the repetition of consonant sounds at the beginning of a series of words. It can create differing rhythms and place emphasis on certain phrases. Zeugma is when one word is used to describe two other words, each in a different way. This can be used to create a humorous moment, to create a unique and strong comparison and association, and to draw attention to certain details in the narrative. Metaphor is one of the most common rhetorical devices, it is a comparison that is made without using the words like or as. Metaphors are used to create the tone of the work by making associations for the reader. These associations can also be used to develop characters.
