I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 2016 with a major in Intercultural Studies and a minor in Spanish. After spending a couple years working in a school in Illinois, I got married and moved to Colorado where we now live with our toddler daughter. I have always been passionate about working with young people in various capacities to help them become what they were created to be. I especially enjoy any sort of mentoring that is one-on-one or small groups.
I spent two years as a PE/bilingual aide in a grade school (preK-8). While there, I helped some of the bilingual students individually or in small groups with understanding and completing assignments as well as growing in their grasp of the English language in general. I also was able to help in classrooms from time to time when they were in need of a substitute teacher. Another experience I had was as a planetarium operator during my senior year of college. I include this because I would give a short "star talk" and answer questions at...

St. Anne Grade School, PE/bilingual aide
2016 - 2018
The majority of the responsibility was to assist in the gym, but throughout the day I would also go help some of the bilingual students individually or in small groups with understanding and completing assignments as well as growing in their grasp of the English language in general. These kids ranged from preschool to eighth grade. My other responsibilities included monitoring kids as they waited in the gym before school, junior high lunch, and crossing guard after school. I also was able to help in classrooms from time to time when they...
Olivet Nazarene University, Planetarium Operator/Astronomy TA
2015 - 2016
As a teacher's assistant for the astronomy course, I graded lab worksheets each week. As a planetarium operator, I was responsible for preparing for shows by getting the computer, projector, and lights set up. Then, when it was time to begin, I would introduce myself and start the video. When the video was completed, I would teach the audience a few things about the night sky and then give an opportunity for questions. Sometimes for public shows I would collect the money at the entrance instead of running the show inside.
Madison School and Community Recreation, Program Leader
2015 - 2015
My co-leader and I would prepare and implement lesson plans for a group of 2nd and 3rd graders on weekday afternoons during the months of June and July. We had staff meetings weekly and some guidelines for what needed to be included in the lessons. As a program, we would go on outings throughout the time too, and we were responsible for the care of our group during those times as well.
