Question:

3 g of a salt of molecular weight 30 is dissolved in 250 g of water. What is the molality of the solution?

Answer:

To find molality you must know: Molality = moles of solute/kilograms of solvent. First we need to find the moles of the solute. We use the equation n=m/M. (n=number of moles, m=mass of substance in g, M= molecular weight) m is the mass given to us,3g M is the molecular weight given to us, 30 3/30=0.1 moles We now know that the mole of solute is 0.1 moles Next, we need the kilograms of solvent. The question gives us 250g, but we need to convert this to kg in order to use the formula to find morality. 250g=0.25kg Now we can enter out numbers into the Molality formula. 0.1mol/.25kg= .4mol/kg The morality is .4mol/kg

Question:

Prokaryotic cells lack A. nucleolus B. nuclear membrane C. membrane bound by organelles D. All of the above

Answer:

There are two cell types: Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic. Eukaryotic cells are typically found in multicellular organisms. The cells contain a membrane-bound nucleus that encloses the cell's genetic information. They also contain membrane-bound organelles. Prokaryotic cells, on the other hand, DO NOT have a nucleus. Instead, the genetic information in this type of cell are not enclosed in a membrane. Given this information, the correct answer is D, all the above.

Question:

Fill in the correct directional term for the items below: The knee is _____ to the hip

Sherline L.
Answer:

To answer such a question, it is important to be comfortable with anatomical terminology and definitions. Medial - toward the midline of the body Lateral - away from the midline of the body Proximal - toward or nearest the trunk or the point of origin of a part Distal - away from or farthest from the trunk or the point of origin of a part After reviewing these definitions, it become clear that the knee is DISTAL to the hip. The knee is further away from the trunk when compared to the hip. Note that if the question were to ask "The hip is ____ to the knee", the answer would then be PROXIMAL. This is because the hip is closer to the truck when compared to the knee.
