What are the properties of addition?
The properties of addition are commutative, associative and identity. With the commutative property, the rule says that the order of the two numbers you are adding does not change the sum. With the associative property, the rule says that when you add three numbers, it doesn't matter which two numbers you add first. The grouping of the numbers does not change the sum. With the identity property, the rule says that if you add 0 and any number, the sum is that same number.
