How do I divide fractions? For example 3/5 divided by 1/2.
When were are dividing fractions I want you to remember KFC. KFC stands for Keep, Flip, Change. What that means is we are going to keep the first fraction. We are going to flip the second fraction from 1/2 to 2/1. Then we are going to change the sign. Instead of dividing them we are now going to multiple them. When we multiply fractions we simply multiply across and then simplify if we can. 3 times 2 is 6. 5 times 1 is 5. That gives us a fraction of 6/5. We can turn this into a proper fraction by asking how many times does 5 go into 6. Well that is 1 and now we have 1 left over and we keep the same denominator. Giving us a proper fraction of 1 and 1/5.

How did the creation of political parties get started in the United States?
Early in the countries history there were a lot of people who wanted a well regulated and organized federal government. This group of people were called the Federalist because they favored a strong central government. Alexander Hamilton was one of the strongest and loudest fighters for the Federalist party. The other group wanted the states to hold more of the power and have less control from the central government. The favored people's rights and freedoms over the strong national government. This group was called the Anti-Federalist, because they were against a strong central government. A popular Anti-Federalist was Thomas Jefferson. Hamilton and Jefferson were at odds when they were both part of Washington's Cabinet and it led to them publishing articles in Newspapers going against each others beliefs. Jefferson and Hamilton were at the front of these political party debates which gave rise to our countries two party system.

How would I find out the y-intercept of the equation 2x+5y=15?
There are a few different ways that we could solve this problem. Using algebra we would first need to turn this equation into slope-intercept form. That is just saying a specific formula for the equation to tell us the slope and the y-intercept of the equation. First we need to move the 2x to the other side of the equals sign by subtracting it from both sides. Doing that would give us the new equation of 5y=15-2x. Now we need to get y by itself. In order to get y all alone we need to get rid of the 5 next to it. Right now 5 and y are multiplying. We need to do the opposite of multiplying in order to move the 5. We will divide 5y by y and we will do the same thing to the other side. (15-2x) divided by 5. When we do all of those operations we are left with y=3-2/5x. Now we know the slope and y-intercept of the equation. -2/5x is the slope and the y-intercept is positive 3.
