You sit down for a session with a client who is looking for help with their diet. You learn that they are following a 2,000 calorie a day ketogenic diet that has a macronutrient distribution of 25% PROTEIN, 5% CARBOHYDRATES and 70% FATS. How many grams should they be having of each macronutrient?
To answer this question, you will have to first figure out how many calories of each macronutrient the client should be having. If protein is 25% of our calories, we take total calories multiplied by the percentage coming from protein. Which looks like, 2,000 x 0.25 = 500 calories from protein. Now follow the same method for carbohydrates and fat. For carbohydrates, 2,000 x 0.05 = 100 calories. Then for fats, 2,000 x 0.70 = 1,400 calories. We will then use these values to find out how many grams we should be consuming. For this we will need to know the conversion rates. There are 4 calories per 1 gram of protein and carbohydrates, but there are 9 calories per 1 gram of fat. Using these we convert from calories to grams. 500 calories of protein divided by 4 calories per 1 gram = 125 grams of protein. 100 calories of carbohydrates divided by 4 calories per 1 gram = 25 grams of carbohydrates 1,400 calories of fat divided by 9 calories per 1 gram = 155 grams of fat. Final answer: The client should be eating 125 grams of protein, 25 grams of carbohydrates and 155 grams of fat.

Which of the following passages is written properly? A) I can’t hardly believe how quickly the weather changed. I was sitting in the bleachers ready for my daughter's soccer game to start. Then suddenly the temperature began to drop! As they rushed to get their game started, the first raindrop fell. It was followed closely by the loud crack of thunder. Left with no other choice, the ref had to delay the girls’s soccer game. Jeni was devastated. She thought this was going to be her team’s first win of the season. A) INCORRECT: "Can't Hardly" is a double negative. It should be written as "can hardly" or "can't". Also, "girls" is already plural so it would receive an apostrophe after the s rather than an ( 's ) - " girls' " B) CORRECT ANSWER C) INCORRECT: The use of "begun" does not fit in the passage. It should instead be "began". In the last sentence, it should be written team's rather than teams'. There are many players on a team, but there is only one team.

Simplify the Algebraic Equation: (5x^2 – 2x + 7) (2x^2 + 4x – 3)
First multiply the polynomials using the FOIL (First Outside Inside Last): *Since there are 3 factors in each polynomial we know that we should end up with 9 factors after the first step* (3 factors x 3 factors) = 9 factors (5x^2 )(2x^2) + (5x^2 )(4x) + (5x^2 )(- 3) + (-2x)(2x^2) + (-2x)(4x) + (-2x)(-3) + (7)(2x^2) + (7)(4x) + (7)(-3) - 10x^4 + 20x^3 - 15x^2 – 4x^3 – 8x^2 + 6x + 14x^2 + 28x – 21 Combine like terms: 10x^4 + (20x^3 – 4x^3) + (-15x^2 – 8x^2 + 14x^2) + (6x + 28x) – 21 - 10x^4 + 16x^3 + -9x^2 + 34x – 21 : FINAL ANSWER
