How does writing help a student?
Writing encourages us to focus more on a subject than we may have, improving our analytical and critical thinking skills. It gives us the opportunity to choose a position and pick it apart. A writer has the freedom to think beyond what they are taught and forces them to justify their stance which will help them in their careers. As a student, writing pushes us to be creative and challenges our engagement with the material. Overall, it creates a space for an individual to think beyond the typical scope and generates skills that will transfer into the professional world.
Subject: Study Skills
What is the purpose of locating what is most difficult for us to study?
Finding the so-called "weakness" in our educational experience enables us to identify problems in school and adheres to everyday life. Pinpointing why a particular subject is difficult or unappealing is a basis to overcoming obstacles in future professions. Mastering study skills, especially towards what is most difficult, will transfer to how an individual can overcome adversity in their later careers.
What is the purpose of utilizing literature to discuss social issues?
Literature can inform the public on issues in various ways: drama, comedy, narrative, poetry, etc. Stories have the ability to discuss social issues that are aimed to either sway or inform the reader. The array of genres gives flexibility towards how a problem is perceived, whether it be in a positive or negative light. Additionally, literature can personally connect with readers, allowing the author to have as much or as little influence they want.
