Subject: Writing
How do I write an introduction paragraph for my paper?
The introduction paragraph needs to include a condensed description of what your paper is about including the thesis statement and the main points of the paper. Depending on what type of paper you are writing (e.g. research, argumentative, etc.) you will want to be clear and concise with the reader will be learning. It is always helpful to add factoids or an anecdotal story to soften the topic introduction. It is sometimes best to skip over the introduction paragraph until the rest of the paper is written. This can then help shape the introduction rather than limit you during your writing process.
Subject: Study Skills
What study skills should I be using to memorize key concepts for an upcoming quiz?
There are a few ways to study key concepts but one way to quickly retain this information for a quiz would be to create flashcards including the following options: the question on one side and the answer on the other OR the term on one side and the definition on the other. These two options are dependent on the content you are learning. You can create these utilizing various free digital flashcard websites or write them out on paper to carry along with you to practice.
