Which of these instruments is not classified as a woodwind? A. Flute B. Clarinet C. Saxophone D. French Horn
Answer: D. The flute, while not made of wood or containing wood most of the time, is still classified as a woodwind based on the way the sound is produced. The clarinet and the saxophone are also woodwinds, as they produce sound the same way as a flute and they have wooden reeds. The French horn is a brass instrument; while its sound melds well with woodwinds, it is made of brass.

What is one of the biggest differences between the Greek version of "Medea", and the Roman version?
Upon reading both of these texts, you can see where the cultural differences create very different performances. The biggest of these is the glorification of violence that existed in ancient Roman culture. In the Greek "Medea", all of the action and violence happens offstage and is talked about afterwards, whereas in the Roman version, violence and murder happens onstage, as well as death. In the Greek version, Medea kills her sons offstage and it is just talked about, but in the Roman version, she has both her sons up high, with one dead, kills the other one, and throws their bodies down to her ex-husband. In ancient Roman times, violence and gladiator fights were a huge form of entertainment in culture, unlike in ancient Greek culture. Therefore, even without knowing which version you were reading, with enough knowledge of what each culture values, one could easily discern which text came from which author based on the cultural influence.
Solve for x: 5(-3x + 1) = -16
First, simplify the left side of the equation by distributing the 5 by multiplication: 5 x -3x = -15x 5 x 1 = 5 -15x + 5 = -16 Then, subtract 5 from both sides to isolate the -15x: (-15x + 5) - 5 = -15x -16 - 5 = -21 -15x = -21 Then, divide both sides by -15 to isolate the x: -15x/-15 = x -21/-15 = -7/-5 x = -7/-5 Two negatives divided make a positive, so the final answer is: x = 7/5
