What is the best way to write?
Writing should be as unique as the person who is serving as the scribe. Although there is a set of rules to follow proper writing, the content, the tone, and the flow should all move through the individual. I enjoy writing through different mediums, whether it is academic writing, journaling, blogging or even texting. Writing, however, is not simply about writing. Just as communication is not just about talking, writing has other components to it. Writing requires critical analysis of a given problem, usually any literature on such problem, and then a plan to best portray the claim being made. Everyone writes differently, as they should, and it is my hope to help others unlock their potential in writing.
How has the role of a father shifted over the last ten years?
The role of a father used to be heavily focused on economic stability and support; they were the so-called "bread-winners." Even when mothers began working outside of the home, they were still generally expected to care for the children and the home after their work shift. Recently, however, we are seeing a shift in the roles of mothers and fathers where fathers are taking a more active role in raising their children and providing support in other ways than just economically. At the same time, as families diversify, we are seeing more single-parent households, some led by single fathers, and same-sex households, many with two fathers. The diverse family structures allow for the role of a "father" to be fluid and ever-changing.
How do we communicate?
Communication is a multi-faceted vehicle in which we, as people, are able to understand the emotions and desires of one another. Communication is often thought of as a mixture of verbal words, however, verbal words are a small piece of communication. Body language and tone of voice are more powerful indicators of communication, and, when used properly, can be used to gain trust from others.
