Question:

Why is it important to publish opinion writing?

Haley C.
Answer:

When creating an opinion piece, the author publishes their ways of thinking. A good opinion piece not only states the author's views, but it provides good reasoning as to why they think the way they do. In addition, an opinion piece can create a good source for discussion. People can read the article and talk about why they agree, why they don't agree, and additional reasonings.

Question:

What are some accommodations we can make for students in the classroom who need them?

Haley C.
Answer:

When providing accommodations, we are not changing their curriculum. Instead, we are creating more effective ways for students to learn and participate in the environment. For example, one accommodation we can make for a student with low vision would be to provide larger text formats. For a student with a hearing impairment, we can be sure to move this student to the front of the room so they can hear better. In addition, we may be able to provide headphones.
