My tutoring career began early in college, when a supportive professor that saw promise in me guided me towards a job as an on-campus student tutor for ESL students. Though apprehensive at first, I took to the job immediately, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both my students and my supervisors lead to a rapid string of job offers for other on-campus tutoring programs. Provided long-form writing instruction and editing services to low-income and minority students. The primary difference between EOP&S and the other tutoring programs I was working at concurrently was the length of the sessions: 60 minutes instead of 30. This enabled longer, more involved conversations with the student that allowed me to better explore their relationship with language.
