About aaron
I love telling stories. And I love making people better storytellers. Language is one of the most powerful tools humanity ever developed, but far too many of us go through life without ever understanding or using a fraction of its potential. There is truly no upper limit to what a person can achieve with a mastery of words, both personally and professionally. Yet for many, writing is a vague, frustrating guessing game with no clear rules or sense of direction, a talent people are assigned randomly at birth and that can never be improved,

Teaching Experience

Teaching Experience
My tutoring career began early in college, when a supportive professor that saw promise in me guided me towards a job as an on-campus student tutor for ESL students. Though apprehensive at first, I took to the job immediately, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both my students and my supervisors lead to a rapid string of job offers for other on-campus tutoring programs. Work Experience

Work Experience
Pierce College, Bridge To Success
2010 - 2012
Facilitated in-class instruction for a special program designed to help low-income, mentally challenged, and ESL students pass the CAHSEE high school exit exam. Lead group activities designed to improve students’ spoken English.
Pierce College, Pierce College EOP&S
2010 - 2012
Provided long-form writing instruction and editing services to low-income and minority students. The primary difference between EOP&S and the other tutoring programs I was working at concurrently was the length of the sessions: 60 minutes instead of 30. This enabled longer, more involved conversations with the student that allowed me to better explore their relationship with language.
Pierce College, Woodland Hills, Center for Academic Success
2010 - 2012
Assisted an extremely diverse student body in a variety of writing projects, including essays, resumes, and college applications. Taught writing, grammar, speech, and general communication techniques to individuals and large (over 40 students) groups. Served as sole online tutor for a student body of approximately 23,000. Proofread and edited papers for clarity, grammatical coherence, and overall structure.
