I am currently going into my fourth year at UC Davis with as Biological Science major with an emphasis in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I have a deep appreciation for biology and will be looking to attend graduate school in the near future to obtain my Ph. D. I currently work in a Molecular lab where I can apply the knowledge I have learned in the various courses I have taken. I work with chloroplast proteins and bacteria where I can perform various molecular techniques such as cloning and polymerase chain reaction.
Plant Science Department of UC Davis-Kentaro Inoue Lab, Undergraduate Research Assistant
2015 - Present
I am working on a project where I am trying to understand how the bacterial endosymbiont, cyanobacteria, converted through evolution, to the cytoplasmic organelle, chloroplast. I am using a variety of molecular techniques to achieve my goal such as polymerase chain reaction and cloning.
UC Davis Telephone Outreach Program, Telephone Student Fundraiser
2014 - 2014
I called UC Davis alumni and parents to raise critical funds for UC Davis. The focus was on building a relationship with the prospect.
Mathematics and Science Tutoring Internship, Learning Assistant
2014 - 2014
I attended an Evolution and Ecology lab for a UC Davis Evolution and Ecology class and helped students obtain clarity of major concepts in Evolution and Ecology and practical learning of testing procedures for microscopes and calibration.
