What criteria does a strong thesis statement fulfill?
A strong thesis statement takes a clear stance in response to a specific question that is debatable. In other words, a strong thesis statement does not sit on the fence, it does not attempt to address a question that is either too narrow or too broad, and the question it addresses could have answers that take different positions. A thesis statement identifies what the intention of the paper is, that is, it tells us what the author will argue and why.
What is the form of a modus ponens argument?
A modus ponens argument consists of a conditional statement (if A, then B), a premise which affirms the antecedent (A) and then concludes that the consequent (B) follows.
