What are the three primary trigonometric functions on a triangle?
The three primary trigonometric functions of a triangle are "sin(x), cos(x), and tangent" sin = opposite/hypotenuse cos = adjacent/hypotenuse tan = opposite/adjacent
Subject: Calculus
What is the integral of the function "f(x) = sin(5x)" ?
Using the rules of integrals, we know the integral of sin(x) is "-cos(x)." For anything inside of the parenthesis of the integrand that has lead coefficient, like "5x" will be a reciprocal in the front of the function. Using this knowledge we can compute the integral of sin(5x) to be "-1/5*cos(5x) + C" *C represents the constant that has been added with the integral.*
Subject: Algebra
The price of a book went from $25 to $50 and then increase another 10%. How much is the total percentage increase of the book price?
One can convert the additional 10% into decimal form with 1.10. Multiplying 50 by 1.10 gives you 55. Using formula of x/100 = 55/25 will get you x = 220. Since we are only looking for "percentage increase" we can subtract 100 from the 220 and we are left with 120 OR 120% increase from the initial book price of $25.
