Question:

How should a thesis statement be written?

Answer:

A thesis is to present your information and argument of an essay. One can follow the QPR format in which you start with a Question or qualification to hook. Following with your position on the subject and then your rationale behind the argument. Example: The Articles of Confederation reflected the ideas of the Revolution through its adherence to actual and equal representation within the government and the idea that sovereign states joined a confederation with weak central governmental power and strong local government over the constitution’s strong central government and the mixing of some virtual representation.

Answer:

The green light is a representative of the American Dream. Gatsby is seen holding his arms out in the direction, close to how he also embraces the ideas of the American dream and worked towards the material versions of it. Though the green light is something so small and simple, to Gatsby it is the light of Daisy and what could be. The green light is Gatsby's hope of getting back Daisy. To him, achieving the American Dream was the way to Daisy thus the light in front of her house guiding his hopeful will. Therefore, the light may also be more simply put as a symbol of hope. As it is a beacon of light in the vast and dark ocean signifying a lantern of greater things in the vastness of the unknown. Also noting the color, green, which is also linked with the idea of money and wealth.
