How can I take my writing to the next level?
Planning, planning, planning! The biggest mistake I see people make is jumping into writing before they have planned their essay out, or even taken the time to make sure they fully grasp the assignment and the material! So much of a successful piece of writing comes down to everything that happens BEFORE you write your first words; if you can master the planning stages of writing, you will become a better, clearer writer, you will be able to think more deeply about topics, and writing will become easier and more enjoyable. I'll walk you through the process and help you build on these skills so that your writing always stands out!
I have a big test coming up and I want to make sure I'm studying properly so that I can get my best score on the big exam. How can you help?
Effective studying is all about YOU and what works best for YOU. There's no one-size-fits-all model for studying! The first step to finding out what method is going to give you the best results is to do some reflecting on your habits in general: are you an early riser, or a night owl? How many hours per week can you realistically dedicate to studying? What are you scoring goals for the big exam? Do you tend to procrastinate or finish things well in advance? The key to effective studying is incorporating studying into your schedule in a way that feels seamless and accessible; the more likely you are to study, and to enjoy the way you study, the better your results will be! Once we nail down some specifics, we can work together to leverage tips and tricks that will take your studying to the next level, as well as start working towards incorporating "stretch" study habits into your daily routine.
How can I make my verbal and written communications stand out and create impact?
The key to effective communication is all about clear organization! Organizing your written and verbal communications in a way that clearly articulates your main ideas and the evidence that you will use to support them will enable you to communicate even complex topics in a way that is easy to follow and easy to understand for your audiences. This requires not only strong topic sentences but a clearly flow as you build your argument concept by concept; often, this type of organization is hard to do while you're drafting something, which is why editing is such an important step! I can help you craft and review communications to ensure that your logic is crystal clear to everyone reading or hearing your communication. Not only will this make your communications more accessible, but it will help you start to influence your audiences with your writing and speaking!
