Question:

If you were tutoring a math student who does not enjoy math, how do you get them interested?

Answer:

If I were tutoring a student who does not enjoy math, I'd use real-world situations to ignite their curiosity. I'd also find out more about their individual interests and try to build their interests into my lessons. I tutored a student like this last year for their middle school math class. Whenever they resisted their math work, I'd refer to a practical example of that math concept to help them understand the relevance.

Answer:

Understanding the software development process and product life cycle is a vital part of working as a software engineer. As everyone works differently, an interviewer asking this question will be interested to learn about the way you work, and whether this will fit within their company culture.
